This position is classified as General Maintenance I (GM I) for applicants without a trades license. Applicants holding a valid Electrician trades license will be considered for the General Maintenance II (GM II) level.
This position performs a wide range of skilled maintenance tasks including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. The practices preventive maintenance of tools and equipment and follows federal regulations governing safety, environmental protection, hazardous waste disposal, and the use of chemicals and materials common to facilities maintenance or construction.
Certifications:
Valid driver’s license.
High School Diploma or GED.
Electricians Trades License preferred.
Location MU - Marshall University Salary Range $33,381 - $44,531 - Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and internal equity. Salary Grade 4 Salary Type Salary Time Type Full-Time

Required Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma/GED
Driver’s License
Journeyman Electrician License (Must obtain WV Journeyman Electrician License w/in 6 months of employment).
Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program OR equivalent technical training/on-the-job training.
Experience
1 year of experience performing skilled electrical work OR an equivalent combination of related experience, Facilities and Operations/Internship experience, education, and training.
Preferred Qualifications
Education
State Issued Licensed in a Mechanical Trade.
Completion of a vocational or technical training program in electrical systems, industrial electricity, or building trades.
Experience
Experience performing electrical work in a higher education, healthcare, or large institutional facilities environment.
