Candidates should be adept at preparing necessary legal documents in connection with prenuptial agreements, initiating and finalizing divorces, alimony, child support/child custody, and real estate. Qualifications
- Board Certified Specialist in Family Law
- 10-15 years of substantial family law litigation experience
- Significant first-chair trial experience
- Demonstrated success in handling complex contested matters
- Experience supervising or leading attorneys
- Strong reputation for professionalism and ethics
- Exceptional writing, advocacy, and analytical skills
- Candidates should be great negotiators and communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are high
- Ability to successfully represent both plaintiff and defendant sides of a case
- Previous criminal justice or other legal background preferred
- Active member of the ABA (American Bar Association)
- Supervising case teams
- Handling firm-critical cases
- Assisting with practice growth
- Training/developing litigators
- Handle sophisticated litigation matters from inception through trial
- Help oversee case strategy across the firm
- Assist in developing litigation systems and standards
- Work closely with firm leadership on practice growth and case management
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives
- Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients
- Organize and maintain client files to ensure they are kept current
- Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process
- Manage the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings when needed
- Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action
