Role Description The Commercial Insurance Producer is a full-time, hybrid role based in Fort Lauderdale, FL, with flexibility for some work from home. This role is responsible for prospecting and developing new commercial insurance business, building and maintaining a robust pipeline of qualified leads, and conducting needs analyses to recommend appropriate coverage solutions. Day-to-day activities include networking with local businesses, conducting client meetings, preparing and presenting proposals, and coordinating with underwriting and account management teams to secure and service policies. The Producer will manage renewals, provide ongoing risk management support, and ensure a high level of client satisfaction through timely communication and follow-up. This role also involves staying current with industry trends, carrier products, and regulatory requirements, while meeting individual production and retention goals.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in business development, prospecting, and relationship management to grow and retain a commercial insurance book of business.
- Experience with commercial lines coverages (e.g., property, casualty, general liability, workers’ compensation) and the ability to analyze client risk profiles.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills for client meetings, proposal delivery, and ongoing account service.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple clients, deadlines, and renewal cycles in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, agency management software, and standard office tools (e.g., MS Office) to document and track activity.
- Active Property & Casualty insurance license in the state of Florida (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe).
- Prior experience in commercial insurance sales or a related financial services role is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, collaborating with colleagues in-office and virtually.
- High level of professionalism, ethical standards, and commitment to client service.
