What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Cook position at Marshall Simonds Middle School?
The Burlington Public Schools is seeking an energetic, hardworking individual to add to the food service program. This is a permanent position for 30 hours a week (6 hours daily) reporting to the Director of Food Services and the Cafeteria Manager.
General responsibilities include the efficient operation of the kitchen in cooperation with the Manager, and assisting the manager in the following functions:
- Preparation and serving meals
- Cleanup, operations of kitchen and equipment
- Monitor cash receipts and cashier as needed
- Maintain sanitation and safety standards in accordance with ServSafe protocol
- Other duties as required by the Manager
Must be reliable, flexible, and enjoy working in a team environment. Must be ServSafe trained. Must be able to follow all safety standards as well as lift and occasionally move up to 30 pounds.
Compensation & Benefits: In Accordance with the current School Cafeteria Employees Contract. Starting rate is $22.22/hour

Hours: 7:15am-1:15pm
