Dynamic, rapidly-growing retail company is seeking a Merchandise Planner!
The Merchandise Planner is responsible for building and maintaining the overall merchandise plans and management of the inventory and allocation/replenishment for stores in a particular Buying area. In partnership with the buying team, they will develop strategies to effectively drive sales and profitability by consistently and pro-actively identifying key issues and areas of opportunity and devising creative solutions to solve problems and improve business. They will prepare timely and accurate forecasts and plans for all KPI’s including sales, markdowns, margin, inventory, receipts, turnover, and assortment breadth and depth. He/she will create detailed analyses and reports to accurately assess the performance of the business.

What You'll Do
- Build and maintain merchandise plans by division, department, and class (where applicable) in the Aptos Planning System, partnering with respective Buyers to incorporate their vision in the plans.
- Regularly update merchandise plans and forecasts for the designated buying areas, and drive Month End Review (MER) process, partnering closely with respective Buyers.
- Work closely with respective Buyers to strategize and manage the assortment and SKU count by store or store group. Recommend refreshes of the assortment by store or store group as needed.
- Work closely with respective Buyers to manage the business on a weekly basis, meeting regularly to discuss action items related to reordering or replacing best sellers, store transfer opportunities, and promo and markdown strategies.
- Fully manage basic/core items in terms of projecting, ordering and store replenishment.
- Fully utilize analytical tools including Smartlook, and Aptos Business Intelligence to prepare standard and ad hoc reports for the team.
- Effectively allocate merchandise and balance inventory levels by store by merchandise category. (where applicable)
- Build and maintain all Allocation & Replenishment (A&R) forecast models, seasonality curves, lead times, dynamic min/max, and vendor review schedules to effectively manage vendor on order, backstock inventory, and daily store replenishment.
- Build new store inventory and assortment plans in partnership with VP’s and Buyers. Carry out new store hindsight analysis.
- Effectively plan and manage entrance/exit strategies of seasonal products.
- Ensure that all communication with the field is timely, positive, and supportive.
- Visit stores regularly to gain a full understanding of our customers and their needs and to gain firsthand perspective of the results of the planning and allocation process
