Housekeeping Cleaner (Guest-Facing Role)
Location: Small Boutique Inn in downtown Marshall, NC
Position Type: Part-time contractor work
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Housekeeping Cleaner to join our team at a small, historic Inn with seven guestrooms in downtown Marshall. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in creating a clean, welcoming environment and is comfortable interacting with guests in a warm, professional manner. The position requires the ability to work both independently and on busy checkout days, collaboratively with a small housekeeping team
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and prepare guest rooms and common areas to a high standard of quality and consistency
- Perform detailed cleaning tasks including bed making, bathroom sanitation, vacuuming, dusting, restocking amenities and processing laundry (sheets, quilts, towels)
- Monitor rooms and public spaces for maintenance or supply needs and report issues promptly
- Interact professionally and courteously with guests when encountered, answering basic questions and maintaining a hospitable presence
- Work efficiently both independently and as part of a team to meet check-in timelines
- Follow established cleaning procedures, safety standards, and Inn policies
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience required
- Comfortable interacting with guests in a friendly, respectful, and professional manner
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and stay on task without direct supervision
- Ability to collaborate well with others during group cleaning shifts
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Physically able to perform cleaning duties, including standing, bending, lifting, and carrying supplies (three floor Inn, stair access only)
- Dependable, punctual, and trustworthy
Schedule & Work Environment
- Part time contractor work with scheduling flexibility (shift requests are accepted based on your availability)
- Both weekday and weekend daytime availability preferred but not required
- Most shifts are between 11am (checkout) and 3pm (check-in)
- Work takes place in a quiet, scenic setting
