Job Responsibilities:
EXPERIENCE: Minimum two years of experience in multispecialty surgical unit, preferably in an oral surgery setting setting.

- Helps prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments and equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions.
- Assembles both sterile and nonsterile equipment, as well as adjusts and checks it to ensure it is working properly.
- Prepares patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and disinfecting incision sites.
- Transports patients to the operating room, helps position them on the operating table, and covers them with sterile surgical drapes.
- Checks patient charts.
- Assists the surgical team with putting on sterile gowns and gloves.
- Passes instruments and other sterile supplies to surgeons and surgeon assistants during surgery.
- Holds retractors, cuts sutures, and helps count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments.
- Observes patient vital signs.
- Helps prepare, care for, and dispose of specimens taken for laboratory analysis and helps apply dressings.
- Operates sterilizers, lights, or suction machines and helps operate diagnostic equipment.
- Maintain all required privileges in accordance with hospital regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
