Position Summary:
The Vice President of Perioperative Services is responsible for building a cohesive vision for Preoperative, Intraoperative, and Postoperative operations and patient care, while leading the execution of a plan to achieve system-level goals and objectives. This role collaborates with physicians and executive leaders to ensure organizational and community needs, goals, and objectives are met. The Vice President will lead continued systemization of MHN Perioperative Services and help position MHN as the premier provider of tertiary perioperative services in the region. This role requires the ability to manage complex relationships with multiple stakeholders to ensure efficient services that meet the needs of patients, physicians, staff, and the community.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with senior leadership, physicians, MHN leadership, and hospital teams to meet service line goals and objectives.
Develop and formalize an integrated governance and operational approach to perioperative services and manage an integrated budget and staff.
Identify opportunities to grow the service line by delivering high-quality outcomes.
Establish the vision and direction for perioperative services in alignment with MHN's strategic direction.
Lead and coordinate providers and medical staff to ensure goals are met and value is achieved.
Recommend changes in administrative policies and procedures to support perioperative objectives.
Prepare and implement business plans for the service line aligned with strategic, financial, and operational targets.
Develop annual and multi-year goals and monitor progress toward achieving financial, operational, and clinical outcomes.
Represent perioperative services on committees as requested.
Coordinate organization-wide operations, ensuring consistency of care standards and evidence-based practices.
Monitor technology advancements and develop feasibility plans for acquisitions.
Create a culture focused on customer service, staff participation, collaboration, motivation, and effective communication.
Ensure performance metrics are met for patient experience, service quality, and overall service line performance.
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with MHN senior leadership.
Analyze and interpret information to support efficient, cost-effective services and standardization.
Pursue opportunities for research and grants in collaboration with Network and Foundation leadership.
Lead and develop group practice directors and other service line members to achieve goals and ensure regulatory compliance.
Serve on or chair committees and task forces as assigned.
Support recruitment and retention of providers and employees within the service line.
Operate with strong business ethics and integrity and promote network values.
Remain knowledgeable of relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends.
Review department performance related to JCAHO standards and Governing Board expectations.
Perform other duties as assigned to support MHN's mission, vision, goals, and objectives.
Organizational Relationship:
Reports to: MHN Chief Operating Officer or Designee
Supervises: Surgical Services Directors and leadership, MHN Preoperative Manager, system preadmission testing managers, post-anesthesia recovery unit managers, phase II recovery, and acute endoscopy managers, in conjunction with the organizational Vice President of Nursing and Patient Services.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Master's degree in nursing, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred.
At least 10 years of acute care experience with a focus on perioperative services.
Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience within a multi-site system and/or academic environment preferred.
Knowledge of healthcare strategy, operations, finance, and physician relations.
