Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and slicers
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to strict food safety and sanitation standards
- Assist with food prep tasks such as slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Support meal preparation for catering events or special service requests while following recipe adherence
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate timing and ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Follow safety standards in production and handle food responsibly to prevent contamination or spoilage
Requirements
- Previous experience in a food service environment or restaurant setting is highly preferred
- Demonstrated culinary experience with knowledge of food handling, safety management, and kitchen procedures
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient preparation
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff
- Experience in dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus but not required
- Knowledge of menu planning, food industry standards, and catering experience is advantageous
