Lead Litigation Attorney

A well-established and growing civil litigation firm with offices in Massachusetts and New Hampshire is looking to add an experienced trial attorney to its team. The firm has built its reputation on strong courtroom advocacy, professionalism, and a collaborative culture, and its litigation practice continues to expand.This position is best suited for a seasoned civil litigator who is comfortable trying cases and taking full ownership of matters from start to finish. Attorneys who have served as New Hampshire prosecutors are especially encouraged to apply, as that background often reflects substantial courtroom time, witness management, and familiarity with New Hampshire courts.This role is not a fit for attorneys whose experience is primarily motion practice, hearings only, or second-chair trial work.The attorney in this position will act as first-chair trial counsel on civil matters and will independently handle cases in New Hampshire courts. Responsibilities include developing litigation and trial strategy, preparing cases through trial or resolution, and serving as the lead advocate in jury and bench trials.Typical responsibilities include:Acting as lead trial counsel in civil jury and bench trialsHandling New Hampshire court appearances, hearings, and trials independentlyManaging cases from inception through verdict or settlementConducting voir dire, openings, witness examinations, and closingsPreparing and arguing dispositive, evidentiary, and trial-related motionsPreparing witnesses, managing exhibits, and trial presentationCommunicating directly with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnelWorking collaboratively with firm attorneys and staff while maintaining an independent caseloadQualificationsJD from an accredited law schoolActive New Hampshire law licenseAt least five years of litigation experienceClear, demonstrable first-chair civil trial experienceStrong courtroom presence and command of trial procedureAbility to travel throughout Central and Northern New HampshireStrong writing, organizational, and advocacy skillsComfortable working independently in a remote structureApplicants without meaningful first-chair civil trial experience should not apply.Preferred BackgroundFormer or current New Hampshire prosecutorSignificant criminal jury trial experienceExperience managing high-volume dockets and witnesses under pressureFamiliarity with New Hampshire judges, court personnel, and local practiceOffered.Competitive compensation based on experienceFully remote structure, aside from court appearances and trialsFlexible schedulingA trial-focused, professional environmentLong-term growth and autonomy for the right attorneyLocation: Remote, with regular in-person court appearances and trials throughout Central and Northern New HampshireInterested attorneys should submit a resume and a brief cover letter outlining their first-chair civil trial experience.
