Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot alarm systems, CCTV cameras, sensors, fire alarms, and access control devices in residential and commercial settings
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to ensure accurate system setup
• Configure remote access software for client monitoring and system management
• Conduct cabling, low voltage wiring, and electrical connections adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards
• Test system functionality using hand tools and power tools; perform adjustments to optimize performance
• Provide on-site service and support for system commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting issues
• Educate clients on system operation, security features, and alarm sales opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a service technician or alarm installer with a strong understanding of security systems and surveillance technology
• Mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience for effective installation and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with computer hardware, networking concepts, and remote access software integration
• Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans related to security system design
• Knowledge of low voltage wiring practices, cabling techniques, and telecommunication standards (NEC compliance preferred)
• Experience working with sensors such as IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), CCTV cameras, fire alarms, locks, and other security hardware
• Skilled in using hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, pliers) and power tools for installation tasks
• Strong field service background with excellent problem-solving skills in diverse environments
• Construction experience or familiarity with building codes enhances installation efficiency
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with clients and team members while providing exceptional service
