Reporting to Marsh’s Chief Regulatory Counsel for US, you will provide lead compliance support for the Marsh Government Health Consulting (GHC) team within the Health & Benefits practice.

This is a hybrid role that requires working in a local office at least three days per week.

We will count on you to:

  • Bring a strong background in state governmental and regulatory matters and be a trusted advisor to business leaders and colleagues in all roles
  • Be well-versed in the legal, regulatory and contractual frameworks for professional service organizations, including consultants and actuaries
  • Serve as the dedicated legal and compliance subject matter expert for GHC across a range of areas and partner with others across LCPA to deliver needed guidance
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in providing advice and making decisions in a complex environment with competing priorities, and in determining when to escalate issues
  • Educate and guide business teams on existing and emerging risk areas

What you need to have:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) and active bar membership (licensed attorney in good standing)
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant legal experience supporting governmental and/or regulatory matters, including work in government contracting, procurement and bidding, conflict-of-interest identification and management, compliance, and data protection/privacy (experience with state government agencies—especially health-related—is a plus)

What makes you stand out:

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and/or within a matrixed organization
  • Ability to communicate and partner effectively with external stakeholders
  • Strong commitment to ethical and compliant behavior, demonstrated through personal integrity and accountability
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and drive them to timely, successful completion
  • Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
  • Top-notch organization skills and the ability to analyze and refine business processes
  • Excellent responsiveness to team and colleagues
  • Professional growth-oriented and curious mindset evidenced by a desire to learn and improve continuously

Why join our team:

  • We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work, and supportive leaders.
  • We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients, and communities.
