Position OverviewThe Grounds Crew plays a key role in maintaining the appearance, safety, and overall presentation of Marsh Properties’ residential and commercial communities. This position is responsible for a wide range of landscaping and maintenance tasks that keep our grounds clean, attractive, and well cared for. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in their work—contributing to the high standards that define the Marsh Properties experience.
Key Responsibilities- Perform all activities related to grounds maintenance, including mowing, edging, blowing debris from curbs and common areas, trimming trees and shrubs, and spreading mulch.
- Maintain cleanliness by removing litter, debris, and leaves from community grounds and common areas.
- Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, chain saws, and pressure washers safely and efficiently.
- Safely operate larger machinery such as dump trucks, tractors, and bobcats when required.
- Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow/ice removal and distribution of ice melt.
- Monitor and report maintenance issues or safety concerns observed during daily rounds.
- Maintain an organized grounds shop, including inventory of supplies and routine equipment maintenance.
- Participate in the on-call (Saturday) rotation and assist with after-hours needs during seasonal periods.
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or related field.
- Ability to operate and maintain grounds equipment and small engines.
- Physical ability to lift 50-75 pounds and perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
- Reliable transportation and punctuality.
Preferred:
- Experience in small engine, truck, or landscape equipment repair.
