What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Associate - Boutique Litigation firm - NYC position at Marsden?
A boutique litigation law firm in NYC is searching for a litigation associate. This is a market paying law firm (salary opportunity for above market bonus). Ideally, we are looking for someone who is either Class of 2021 or 2022. If, however, you are Class of 2023 and have exceptional academics and work for a top ranked practice, you may be still be considered.
As an associate you will have the opportunity to work on a range of contentious matters including commercial and financial litigation, arbitration, white collar crime and investigations. Partners take a very hands on approach so you'll have terrific mentorship and supervision. You will also be afforded excellent levels of responsibility on case matters and great exposure to clients. This is truly an opportunity to work under and learn from some of the best litigation lawyers in the City whilst hugely accelerating your learning curve.
You should have a strong academic record with a JD from a top law school. Your experience can be from any reputable law firm - whether that is big law or another boutique law firm. The type of disputes you have worked on to date is less relevant, given the broad nature of the role. Niche experience would be fine as long as you are open to broadening out. The firm has had real success in the past hiring lawyers from big law firm practices where they were one of a large group but craved more responsibility.
You should be admitted in NY (but you may be considered if you are eligible to sit for the NY Bar).
This position is not open to law graduates. Prior law firm experience or judicial clerkship experience is essential.
