Shipping Coordinator (Days)

Job Description:

Royal Canin is looking for a Shipping Coordinator at the Lebanon, TN location!

Required Shift: Days

6:00 am to 6:30 pm (4 days- on- 4 days-off)

Job Purpose:

The purpose of the Shipping Coordinator is to provide shipping and transfer support to the Production Team. Shipping Coordinators ensure our product is staged for production use, audited, handled, stored, shipped and readily tracked efficiently while meeting our high-quality standards and maintaining targeted customer service levels.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School graduate or GED
• Forklift certified.
• Must be able to lift to up to 25 lbs.
• 1-2 years of logistics/transportation experience (preferred).
• Prior experience in a warehouse or manufacturing facility (preferred).
• Experience as a Team Lead (preferred)
• Prior experience with warehouse and/or transportation management systems (preferred)

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Lead safety & quality in warehouse and shipping operations.
• Support site initiative in maintaining WPT Zone 4 in Blue warehouse.
• Safe operation or 3-wheel sit-down, 4-wheel sit-down, and stand-up forklifts.
• Adhere to all Mars Inc/Royal Canin Safety & Quality and Food Service (QFS) requirements.
• Drive for minimal downtime related to providing materials to Operations as well as lines backing up.
• Ensure finished product stacked appropriately and defect-free.
• Maintain 5S standards and daily housekeeping.
• Conduct quality verification practices including audit of production and load verifications.
• Prepare trailers for loading
• Ensure accurate labeling of inventoried materials including finished goods, packaging, and raw materials
• Provide initial escalation paths for our Shipping team.
• Provide guidance and direction to a team of 3-5 associates.
• Support the shipping team by pulling bags, pulling from the line, loading / unloading trailers, or other appropriate warehouse functions.
• Escalate and report issues to Warehouse Coordinator, Shift Manager, Warehouse Manager and/or Flow Manager.
• Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy and control (cycle counts).
• Verify all required documentation including quality, production, and sanitation records.
• Ensure all flow housekeeping tasks are performed and ensure the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) is executed.
• Perform a changeover and walkthrough (MSE CPs) with the oncoming and off-going teams to discuss shipping area status and to ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Drive for 5S Step-Change in shipping/warehouse
• Oversee and maintain forklift charging/equalization schedule and rack inspections.
• Make sure that all forklift pre-checks are completed.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks on behalf of the Warehouse Manager or Warehouse Coordinator.
• Assist in other production areas, as requested.
• Daily management of external drivers that deliver or pick up from the site.
• Coordination of efforts to position trailers to dock doors, as necessary.
• Validating skills for forklift operators at the level of an OJT.
