Batching Operator .

The Batching Operator is responsible for the batch scheduling of raw commodities into accurate batches of mixed meal delivered through the processing systems.

The Batching operator will participate in setting strategy for the processing system to ensure meeting or exceeding production schedule in the most efficient manner possible.

The operator is also responsible to perform preventative and downtime maintenance of area equipment and help make incremental improvements as well as assisting maintenance and engineering to improve and upgrade current systems, provide input on new projects and is responsible for training other Batching Operators.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for the total operation of the batching area.

Manage the batching schedule, and batch to assure accurate batches of mixed meal delivered through the processing system.

Coordinate flexible workforce activities as needed for recipe specific requirements.

Participate in setting strategy for the processing system to ensure meeting of exceeding production schedule in the most efficient manner possible.

Maintain a safe and clean work environment to promote associate safety and product integrity.

Troubleshoot processing system to optimize performance and take corrective action to ensure product quality while minimizing unnecessary downtime.

Perform preventative and downtime maintenance of area equipment and helps make incremental improvements.

Improve operations through individual and group problem solving and provide leadership in solving problems on the floor and in meetings.

Promote high quality team environment through effective teamwork and self-management with a positive attitude.

Train other area associates in operation of all areas and systems.

Associate is responsible for communicating and escalating any quality and food safety concerns to site management.

Interpersonal skills to work in a team environment with a positive attitude and minimal supervision.

Other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities :

Assist Warehouse / Shipping functions as needed and available.

Participate in site safety program and actively look for ways to improve site and area safety.

Other similar duties as assigned.

Physical / Environmental Requirements

Must not be afraid of heights and capable of working at elevated heights Must not be unusually sensitive to chemicals

Vision correctable to 20 / 20 (contact lenses not recommended).

Hearing and speaking ability both in person and on the phone.

Ability to recognize colors.

Must be able to stand on your feet on a concrete floor for long periods of time.

Wearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, uniform,

Bending, stooping, twist, turn, standing for extended time periods, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting to 55 lbs.

Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as hot to cold, dust, dirt and chemicals

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment with a positive attitude and minimal supervision

Forklift assignments require OSHA certification and getting on and off frequently

Minimum Qualifications

Be 18 years of age or older

Have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent education

Basic knowledge of personal computers through demonstrated competency in software including MS Office and email

Must be willing and able to work rotating schedules.

Ability to understand and effectively communicate in the English language

High Level of mechanical aptitude and knowledge, with good skills in troubleshooting and problem solving

Most recent Performance appraisal with a minimum of Meets expectations and not more than 1 year old.

No active disciplinary notices.

Acceptable attendance (less than 5 incidents and no discipline above an Initial Warning)

Desired Education / Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma and 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
