MARS Solutions Group is looking for an experienced 2nd Shift Manufacturing Team Leader / Supervisor in Lomira, WI. Our client is a recognized leader in the wear-resistant cutting components industry and is looking for a quality-focused professional who can make a meaningful impact.
Position Overview
The 2nd Shift Manufacturing Team Leader / Supervisor provides hands-on leadership and operational oversight across a large manufacturing facility during the assigned shift. This role is responsible for maintaining safe, efficient, and high-quality production while leading employees across multiple departments.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, making sound operational decisions, resolving issues, and holding teams accountable for safety, quality, productivity, attendance, and performance.
Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations across 2nd shift and coordinate activities across multiple departments.
Plan staffing, workflow, and production priorities to meet schedules and customer requirements.
Make timely decisions related to staffing, production, quality, safety, equipment, and workflow.
Maintain a safe work environment and enforce PPE, LOTO, forklift, housekeeping, and other safety requirements.
Respond to and resolve production, quality, equipment, employee, and workflow issues.
Partner with Quality, Maintenance, Manufacturing, and technical teams to address issues and maintain product standards.
Ensure effective communication between shifts and across departments.
Coach, train, and develop employees while addressing performance and behavioral concerns fairly and consistently.
Participate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations.
Monitor production performance and support continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean, 5S, flow lines, and work cells.
Complete and validate required ERP/MRP transactions, including job closeout activities.
Monitor equipment, tooling, supplies, and facility conditions and support preventive maintenance activities.
Read and interpret blueprints, routings, work instructions, customer orders, and other manufacturing documentation.
Maintain accurate operational and training records.
Support conflict resolution and promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
Provide support to other manufacturing leaders and perform additional responsibilities as needed.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
2–3 years of manufacturing supervisory or leadership experience.
Direct experience supervising, training, and coaching manufacturing employees.
Strong hands-on manufacturing and shop-floor experience.
Ability to lead employees across multiple departments.
Strong judgment, decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of manufacturing safety practices, including LOTO, PPE, and forklift safety.
Ability to interpret manufacturing documentation, including blueprints, routings, and work instructions.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and email.
Strong communication and conflict-management skills.
Ability to work effectively with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and technical teams.
Ability and willingness to consistently work 2nd shift.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate or bachelor's degree or relevant technical certification.
Machining or technical manufacturing experience.
Experience with gauging and measurement systems.
Quality management system experience.
MRP/ERP or automated scheduling experience.
Epicor experience.
Lean Manufacturing, 5S, flow-line, or work-cell experience.
Interviewing, hiring, and onboarding experience.
Experience overseeing operations across a large manufacturing facility.
