Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities and personal care as needed.
- Support individuals in developing independence and life skills.
- Assist with meal preparation, eating, and maintaining proper nutrition as appropriate.
- Encourage participation in recreational activities, social outings, and community integration.
- Provide companionship, encouragement, and emotional support.
- Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and other daily routines as required.
- Implement individual service plans and follow established support strategies.
- Promote safety, dignity, choice, and independence in all interactions.
- Observe and report changes in behavior, health, or overall well-being.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and daily activities.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and other members of the care team as appropriate.
- Follow agency policies, confidentiality requirements, and applicable health and safety procedures.
- Provide respectful, person-centered care that supports each individual's goals and preferences.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a DSP, caregiver, home health aide, or direct care worker is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, compassion, reliability, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently when appropriate.
- Ability to complete required documentation and training.
- Must meet applicable background-check, training, and other agency requirements.
- Reliable transportation may be required depending on the individual's service needs and work location.
Work Schedule
Monday through Thursday
- Start time: 10:30 AM
- End time: 4:30 PM
- Total: 6 hours per day
- Weekly schedule: 24 hours
Candidates must be available to work the full scheduled shift on all four weekdays.
Salary : $19 - $20
