What are the responsibilities and job description for the Campus Security Officer position at Mars Hill University?
Performs routine duties of Security Officer and other activities under the direction of the Director of Safety & Security or designee; Assistant Director (Chief) of Security.
Duties:
1. Routine patrol.
2. Walking through buildings for proactive patrol or inspections each shift, to include residence halls.
3. Running airport trips.
4. Escorting students to doctors, etc.
5. Issuing parking violations.
6. Crowd control and parking for special events.
7. Handling calls for assistance.
8. Opening and closing of buildings.
9. Keeping the office area and patrol vehicle clean.
10. Investigating incidents that happen on campus.
11. Taking a bank deposit.
12. Picking up mail.
13. Perform other duties as directed by the Director or designee.
Responsibilities:
1. Economical use of supplies, care, and use of equipment.
2. Quality of work performed.
3. Keeping up with work demand.
4. Cooperating with other employees to promote the efficiency and morale of the department.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Good physical and mental health.
2. Ability to understand and follow directions, either written or oral.
3. Must have initiative and good judgment.
4. Must be neat in appearance at all times.
5. Present an up-to-date physical examination showing to be in good health and physical condition.
