Retail Sales Associate

Job Summary

Marrs Mercantile and Marrs on Main are looking for friendly, dependable retail associates who genuinely enjoy talking with people and creating a welcoming shopping experience.

Our stores are an extension of the Marrs brand, and many of our guests have traveled specifically to visit us. Retail associates should be comfortable starting conversations, learning about our products, sharing their stories, and helping customers find something they’ll love. This is an active role that requires initiative throughout the entire shift—not just when a manager gives you a task.

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet every guest and make them feel welcome
• Start genuine conversations with customers and offer help without waiting to be asked
• Learn our products and confidently share their features, stories, and connection to the Marrs brand
• Help customers find products, suggest complementary items, and contribute to store sales goals
• Operate the register and handle purchases, returns, and other transactions accurately
• Answer customer phone calls in a friendly and helpful manner
• Restock, straighten, clean, and organize merchandise throughout the day
• Notice what needs to be done and take initiative during slower periods
• Help maintain attractive displays and a clean, welcoming store
• Follow store policies and work respectfully with managers and fellow team members
• Assist at either Marrs Mercantile or Marrs on Main as scheduled

• Dependable, punctual, and able to follow through on responsibilities
• Self-motivated and able to stay productive without constant direction
• Interested in learning about our merchandise and the stories behind it
• Comfortable recommending products and helping drive sales
• Able to handle basic math, discounts, and register transactions accurately
• Willing to clean, restock, organize, and complete other everyday retail tasks
• Available for a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and some closing shifts
• Previous retail or customer-service experience is helpful, but a welcoming personality, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn are equally important

Physical Requirements

This position requires standing and walking for most of the shift, reaching, bending, restocking merchandise, and lifting or carrying store products and boxes as needed.

Pay: $11.00 - $15.00 per hour
