Assembler

Role Overview

Performs precision assembly and subassembly of valves and actuators to meet critical operating requirements with close tolerances, by performing the following duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Under limited supervision performs precision assembly and subassembly of valves and actuators to meet critical operating requirements with close tolerances.
• Must be able to check parts for cleanliness, fit, finishes, and defects in material or workmanship.
• Must be able to use assembly fixtures, hand and power tools, and testing devices, as required.
• Must be able to select and use gauges and measuring instruments to test for leakage.
• Sets up for and conducts hydrostatic and seat leak tests on assembled valves and leak tests actuators.
• Must be able to detect and report faulty operation and/or defective material to supervisor, lead or senior personnel.
• Must be able to complete neat, clean test reports and other required paperwork on the tested valves and actuators.
• May be assigned to other work areas as required.
  

Critical Competencies For Success

• Must have general knowledge of valves and actuators, or in lieu of, either mechanical assemblies or equivalent understanding of industrial assembled goods.
• Must be able to follow basic drawings and Bill of Materials along with verbal instructions.
• Must be willing to work overtime and weekends.
  

Pay range: $20-25/hr

Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
