[Temporary Assignment]December 2025 (Possibly Extension) Position SummaryThe Human Resources Associate is responsible for performing a wide range of HR-related duties at a professional level and works closely with senior management in supporting the organization’s workforce. This role carries out responsibilities in employee relations, benefits and leave administration, training and development, performance management, policy implementation, and compliance with employment laws and regulations. Key ResponsibilitiesEmployee Relations – 30%Partner with leadership to manage employee relations, including counseling, disciplinary action, outplacement support, and exit interviews.Participate in administrative meetings and HR-related seminars.Evaluate HR reports, decisions, and results to support departmental goals.Recommend improvements to HR policies and procedures to enhance efficiency.Coordinate employee recognition programs and staff communications.Assist with employee terminations, including account and benefit closure. Leave of Absence and Benefits Administration – 30%Manage leave of absence processes in collaboration with third-party administrators.Administer employee benefits, including enrollment, changes, and claims resolution.Coordinate the annual open enrollment process and handle unemployment and EDD claims.Prepare reports and documentation as needed for benefit and insurance partners. HR Administration and Compliance – 15%Implement and maintain HR policies and procedures in compliance with state and federal employment laws.Oversee the employee handbook and ensure compliance with EEO and affirmative action regulations.Maintain HRIS records, reports, and employee files.Manage workers’ compensation reporting and act as liaison during audits.Prepare and submit mandatory reports such as EEO-1 and Pay Data filings.Provide support with credentialing and privileging for clinical and support staff as needed. Learning and Development – 15%Collaborate with HR leadership to assess training needs through surveys, interviews, and manager input.Design, plan, and conduct onboarding, orientation, and skills-based training programs.Develop training materials, manuals, and course content.Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback and performance metrics.Maintain records of training activities, attendance, and compliance requirements.Research and implement best practices in learning and professional development. Payroll – 10%Process payroll as needed, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. QualificationsMinimum Requirements:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.Experience: At least one year of human resources experience. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Preferred Qualifications:Education: Master’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related discipline.Experience: Previous HR experience in a healthcare, community health center, or FQHC environment preferred.Certification: Bilingual English/Spanish and/or SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is desirable. Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations and teams.Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.Knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.Customer service–oriented with a professional and approachable demeanor. Work Environment and Physical RequirementsProfessional office environment; routinely uses standard office equipment.May occasionally lift or transport office materials and supplies.Position may require travel to other locations for meetings or training.Must have reliable transportation.
