Redwood News KIEM/KVIQ is seeking a Part-Time Master Control Operator / News Production Assistant to support our News Production Department in Eureka, CA.
We’re looking for a detail-oriented team player to join our technical crew for fast-paced daily newscasts and additional programming as assigned.
What You’ll Do
- Learn to operate our Commercial Broadcast Playback Systems to air and monitor television programming and commercials
- Train under the Technical Director to operate studio cameras, microphones, audio consoles, broadcast switchers, and lighting equipment
- Support live and recorded productions as part of the studio team
- Use Adobe Creative Suite tools (a plus, but not required)
What We’re Looking For
- Strong organizational skills — able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment
- Attention to detail — accuracy matters in live broadcast
- Comfort using multiple computer systems
- Broadcast experience is helpful but not required — we will train the right candidate

- Relocation: Must relocate to Eureka, CA 95503 before starting
- Commute: Ability to commute to Eureka, CA 95503 required
