As a Service Technician, you’ll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the complex machinery and systems that keep our community running smoothly.

Duties & Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repair
- Install new hardware and complex products, ensuring they work correctly and safely.
- Educate residents on the correct use and upkeep of their products.
- Repair broken-down or damaged equipment either in the field or at a diagnostic and repair center.
- Assess hardware and installation functionality and prepare reports on maintenance and repair work performed.
- Persuade residents to invest in necessary replacements or vital repairs to key components and hardware devices.
- Handle resident relations in a professional and friendly manner.
- Explain complex installation, diagnostic, and repair issues in an accessible way to non-technical residents.
- Administrative
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
- Complete service requests and follow-up to ensure resident satisfaction.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Participate in on-call rotation for emergency maintenance requests.
General
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or other leadership as needed.
- Conduct all business in accordance with Skyline’s policies and procedures, Fair Housing, Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and all other Federal and State laws.
Experience
- 1-2 years in a maintenance or service technician role required.
- Experience in community management maintenance preferred.
- EPA and CPO certification preferred.
Physical
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to work in various environmental conditions including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and kneeling.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
- Manual dexterity to handle tools and perform repairs.
- Varying work hours per week depending on whether a full or part-time employee (20-40 ). Employees will be required to work a flexible workweek including weekends and on-call rotation.
Travel
- Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License & Automobile Insurance
- Ability to operate company vehicles such as the community golf cart
- May need to utilize personal transportation to inspect apartment community and surrounding neighborhood, make corporate office visits, as well as required on-call travel.
Education
- Must have GED/High School Diploma or better
- Prefer EPA and CPO certification. May be required to obtain within 90 days of employment.
