Maron Marvel has an immediate opening for a paralegal to join our team in its Jackson office. Successful candidates will have exceptional research, writing, and litigation skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft routine legal documents
• Manage multiple cases from start to trial
• Collect documents from various sources
• Collect, organize, analyze and summarize medical records
• Review and analyze documents.
• Conduct various document searches and factual research
  
  

Skills

• Experience in all phases of litigation from the onset of suit through trial.
• Preferable experience in personal injury litigation.
• Excellent communication skills: able to interact professionally with clients and attorneys.
• Excellent writing skills: able to communicate clearly and draft legal documents as requested by attorneys, including but not limited to pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and discovery production documents.
• Knowledge of all phases of the litigation process and ability to assist attorneys in all phases of the litigation process.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Proficient in Adobe Professional and Adobe DC.
• Self-starter: Ability to work independently and follow up on tasks.
• Strong organizational skills required: Ability to adapt to existing systems to maintain and organize case files.
• Experience in preparing summaries as requested of deposition transcripts, medical records, discovery pleadings.
• Ability to gather relevant information from a variety of sources as applicable to each case, including but not limited to legal research.
• Ability to effectively set priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong ability to troubleshoot issues and create solutions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Requirements

• Paralegal Certificate required from accredited school.
• Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.
• Preferable two-plus years’ minimum experience as a personal injury paralegal.
