Small boutique law firm focused on matrimonial and family law matters is seeking a Leave Replacement Attorney to join our team for a temporary assignment (JUNE - AUGUST 2026 - Part time or full time).This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a collaborative team while handling substantive responsibilities, including court appearances, client counseling, and drafting legal documents. Possible full time employment after leave replacement.Responsibilities:Manage a caseload of matrimonial and family law matters, including divorce, custody, support, and post-judgment issuesDraft and review pleadings, motions, stipulations, and settlement agreementsConduct legal research and prepare memorandaRepresent clients in court appearances, conferences, and hearingsParticipate in negotiations and settlement discussionsCommunicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnelAssist with discovery, including document review and preparation of discovery responsesQualifications:Admission to the NEW YORK STATE Bar and in good standing required0-2 years of experience practicing matrimonial and/or family lawOR Recently Law School Graduate with NYS Bar Admission and interest in Matrimonial/Family LawStrong legal research, writing, and advocacy skillsExperience appearing in court and handling conferences independentlyAbility to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and client management skillsHighly organized with strong attention to detailPreferred Qualifications:Familiarity/ Interest in Matrimonial/ Family LawFamiliarity with local court procedures and filing systemsCompensation:Competitive hourly or salary rate commensurate with experience.How to Apply:Interested candidates should submit a resume and writing sample to smarnell@marnelllaw.com with the subject line Leave Replacement Attorney Application.Company DescriptionMatrimonial/Divorce/Family Law firmAVVO ratedMartindale Hubbell AV rated firm
