Sterling Crane has an exciting opportunity for a Heavy Duty Technician (Journeyperson/Red Seal) based in our Prince George, BC branch. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with occasional overtime required. JOB TYPE: Full-time hourly position, unionized. Field and shop work required. LOCATION: 9157 Rock Island Road, Prince George, BC (on-site). HOURS: Monday through Friday, within business operating hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM MST (40 hour/week). Overtime will be required as needed. VEHICLE: A Company service truck will be provided. Responsibilities: Troubleshooting, inspecting, and cleaning equipment, testing machinery, and repairing and servicing the Sterling equipment fleet (mobile and crawler hydraulic cranes, boom trucks, trailers and light duty vehicles). Estimate the cost of repairs, order parts and track fleet maintenance in the Sterling Preventative Maintenance Program. Provide detailed repair comments in both paper and electronic work orders format. Qualifications: Journeyperson/Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician required. Working experience in electrical and hydraulic systems is required. The successful candidate must demonstrate safe work practices, follow company policies and be able to work well both independently and as part of a team. A strong working knowledge of Link-Belt, Liebherr, Grove and Tadano crane manufacturers is an asset. Must supply own hand tools, a valid driver’s license, and possessing a valid Class 3 or 5 is considered an asset. The successful candidate will be required to be in good standing with IUOE 115 or become members of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 115.
