The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for ensuring parts received externally and produced internally are of excellent quality, meeting all form, fit, and function specifications.
Essential Job Duties
Inspect and evaluate parts, rejects parts as necessary, and initiating appropriate corrective action. Review and interpret relative documentation to include but not limited to, part drawings, part lists, part datasheets, part samples and fixtures, Bill of Materials, Bill of Operations, and Kanban Structures. Maintain quality standards documentation, databases, and records relative to respective assigned area(s). Document defects with conciseness, accuracy, and details to ensure defects are not reproduced. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Thorough understanding of DataFlo system (or equivalent system), processes and procedures. Must be able to utilize and comprehend Quality Verification Resources to include but not limited to check gauges, calipers, micrometers, scaled ruler, and the use of different hand tools. Must be able to interpret blueprints, part datasheets, and fixtures. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment. Ability to effectively follow instructions; work independently with minimum supervision. Must know basic math such as addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication. Must demonstrate basic computer skills. Demonstrated good housekeeping practices. Strong problem-solving skills. Possess a positive attitude. Strong work ethic, ability to multi-task, and excellent communication skills.
Education, Credentials & Experience
High School Diploma or GED. (preferred) 6 months to 1 year of experience as a QC inspector/technician.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL EFFORT
Must adhere to safety standards and wear the correct PPE as specified for the job, inclusive of steeled toe shoes and warehouse vests. Repetitive work and long periods of standing, bending, twisting or lifting, need mental and physical stamina and strength. Must be able to lift, load, unload, push, and pull parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Hours as assigned with the probability of overtime during the week and on Saturday. Must be able to work in the summer heat and winter cold.
