Position Summary

Tyto Athene is searching for highly qualified Senior Systems Architect to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida

Responsibilities

• Specializes in virtualization strategies, security policy enforcement, multi-vendor solution integration, and infrastructure optimization to support dynamic mission and operational requirements in classified and unclassified environments.
• Architect and implement virtualized environments using VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, or cloud-native virtualization (e.g., AWS Nitro, Azure HV).
• Design resilient, scalable cloud and hybrid systems architectures that support mission-critical workloads.
• Lead initiatives to consolidate infrastructure, reduce technical debt, and improve system agility through resource abstraction and automation.
• Define and enforce security policies aligned to RMF, DoD Cloud SRG, NIST 800-53, and Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA).
• Manage multi-vendor relationships, integrate COTS/GOTS solutions, and conduct trade studies for architectural decisions.
• Guide cloud modernization and migration strategies including lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and containerization.
• Oversee capacity planning, performance tuning, and availability monitoring across on-prem and cloud platforms.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, networking, storage, and application teams to align enterprise architecture with mission goals.
• Support 24/7/365 operations at Doral, FL, COOP, Exercises, and Deployments
  
  

Core Responsibilities

Required

• 10 years of experience and HS or AA/AS or BA/BS or MA/MS
  
  

Desired

• Master’s Degree in Cloud Engineering, Cybersecurity, or Systems Architecture.
  
  

Certification

• Must meet (IAM/IAT Level II)
