Job Title: Plastic Injection Mold Estimator / Mold Sales Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Plastic Injection Mold Estimator / Mold Sales Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate mold cost estimates, supporting sales efforts, and serving as a technical liaison between customers and internal teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mold making, excellent communication skills, and the ability to interpret customer requirements into competitive and profitable quotations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates for plastic injection molds based on customer drawings, specifications, and RFQs.
· Review part designs and provide feedback on manufacturability, tooling feasibility, and cost-saving opportunities.
· Collaborate with engineering, tooling, and production teams to develop reliable cost assumptions.
· Communicate directly with customers to clarify project requirements and present quotations.
· Support sales efforts by developing technical proposals and maintaining customer relationships.
· Track and follow up on quotes to help convert opportunities into awarded projects.
· Maintain organized records of estimates, pricing, and project details.
· Stay current on materials, processes, and industry trends related to injection molding and tooling.
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 5 years of hands-on mold making experience (required) plus 5 years of Sales Engineering / Estimators required.
· Strong understanding of plastic injection mold design, construction, and manufacturing processes
· Proficiency in SolidWorks (required)
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD models.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Previous experience in estimating or quoting injection molds.
· Experience in a customer-facing or sales engineering role
· Knowledge of mold flow analysis or DFM principles
· Familiarity with IQMS and Microsoft Access
Work Environment:
· Office and manufacturing floor interaction
· Occasional travel may be required for customer visits.
Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
