OPPORTUNITY STATEMENT
The long-term sub will assume full classroom responsibilities for four sections of Upper School Physics courses (Grades 10-12), including both Honors Physics and Advanced Placement (AP) Physics classes. This assignment spans the first semester of the 2026-2027 School Year, August 2026 – October 2026, requiring the maintenance of instructional continuity, effective classroom management, and the diligent and comprehensive preparation of AP students for the AP exam in early May.

- Teach four Physics courses (May include Honors Physics and/or AP Physics)
- Use Marlborough’s learning management system for attendance, curriculum materials, and digital gradebook maintenance.
- Cultivate a safe, engaging learning environment to enhance student participation.
- Collaborate and maintain regular communication with the Science Department, student services, deans, and administrators.
- Serve as a grade-level advisor to a group of approximately 12 students.
- Fulfill daily Homeroom responsibilities, including submitting student attendance, making daily announcements, and ensuring students start their day prepared.
- Participate actively in department, grade-level, and school activities, contributing to a collaborative and mission-aligned school culture.
- Adhere to Marlborough’s academic policies, guidelines, and expectations while modeling a commitment to student wellbeing and joy in learning.
- Competitive bi-weekly salary of $3,000-$3,269.24 (approximately $78,000-$85,000).

Qualifications And Requirements
- A B.A. in Physics, or another discipline in the Sciences. A graduate degree in Physics or another discipline in the Sciences is a plus.
- 2 years of demonstrated success teaching at the secondary level or comparable experience.
- Possess confidence in their disciplinary and pedagogical expertise while remaining committed to professional growth and innovation in both these areas.
- Enjoy collaboration and have the ability to execute curriculum as part of a teaching team.
- Possess a high degree of interest in supporting the developmental needs of teenagers with the ability to combine high expectations with a high level of support.
- Excellent communication, organizational, planning and interpersonal skills.
