Summer Cafeteria Manager

Hours:

Up to 7 hours per day

Dates:

July 6, 2026 - July 31, 2026 (Monday - Friday all weeks.)

Compensation:

Pay by step as per Collective Bargaining Agreement

Statement of Duties:                            

• Performs tasks requiring an ordinary degree of skill in preparation and serving of food as well as other tasks required for the operation and sanitary maintenance of a food service facility or area.
• Food and paper inventories as necessary
• Order all food and paper items (SYSCO).
• Lifting of kitchen supplies and materials.
• Cash sheets, production records, HACCP records, and deposits to be done if necessary.
• Maintain monthly FP9 form if necessary.
• Determine the amounts of food to be served to meet the lunch requirements.
• Place milk and bread orders for all schools
• Responsible for satellite lunch programs
• Works with register system during lunch if necessary
• Set up and serves food from steam tables
• Prepares vegetables and other foods for cooking.
• Makes soups and other simple hot foods, sandwich fillings, salad dressing, and simple desserts.
• Prepares sandwiches and salads.
• Operates electrical equipment such as mixers, potato peelers, slicing machines, dishwashers, and toasters.
• Cleans tables and other kitchen equipment.
• Collects and washes dishes, silver and cooking utensils, and puts them away.
• Sweeps floor, cleans counters and tables, and counter and kitchen equipment, such as food containers, trays, cooking ranges, garbage cans, and refrigerators.
• Receives and checks deliveries of food and other supplies.
• Stores foods properly in refrigerators and storeroom.
• Keeps stores in good order.
• Supervise and evaluate the work of Cafeteria workers.
• Prepare work schedules
• Post duties.
• Monitor time slips from summer cafeteria employees – update attendance records.
• Report all absentees to Director.
• Prepare inventory of equipment at end of summer if necessary
• Perform all other general duties as indicated by directives of the Food Service Director, building Administrator, Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, and polices of the Marlborough School Committee

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a High School Diploma.
• Must be Serve Safe Certified
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Valid Driver's License and mode of transportation to drive between school buildings required
• Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
• Experience in food service industry preferred.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
