Marlborough College is seeking to recruit an inspiring Teacher of English (maternity cover) to join our experienced and dedicated English Department at the start of the Summer Term 2027 to cover maternity leave. The English Department consists of eleven specialist and passionate teachers, and provides an outstanding standard of teaching and learning to our pupils.
In the entry year (Year 9) the Shell English course aims to generate creativity and imagination within the reading and writing of our pupils, as well as consolidating and developing literacy. All pupils in Years 10 and 11 follow the CAIE IGCSE syllabuses syllabus for English Literature (0992) and English Language (0990). In the Upper School (Years 12 and 13), pupils follow the Eduqas A Level English Literature syllabus. Many also study Creative Writing for EPQ in the Lower Sixth year.
