Marlboro Physical Therapy is urgently hiring for a part- time/per- diem Medical Front Desk Specialist to join our team. We are a dynamic physical therapy practice looking for a motivated, organized, and reliable individual to join us!

The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing various administrative tasks in a fast-paced medical environment. This role requires proficiency in medical terminology, scheduling, and handling patient records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Our ideal candidate will possess strong communication, problem-solving and critical thinking skills as well as a keen attention to detail. The ideal candidate will also combine an engaging personality with an ability to maintain organization in a busy environment.
Experience with EMR systems is preferred!
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Manage multi-line phone systems to handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and provide information regarding services offered.
- Verify patient insurance information and assist with insurance verification processes.
- Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and ensure all documentation is complete and up-to-date.
- Assist with medical billing and coding tasks, including familiarity with CPT coding, ICD-10.
- Handle patient inquiries regarding care plans, appointment scheduling, and general office procedures.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, typing, and maintaining organized medical records.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure efficient patient flow within the clinic.
- Utilize EHR systems for documentation and scheduling purposes.
Skills
- 1 year minimum healthcare experience preferred with all carrier types: all major medical insurances, workers compensation and personal injury (PIP/MVA) is preferred
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding practices (ICD coding, CPT coding).
- Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems; experience with Practice Perfect is preferred.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel).
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to enhance patient communication.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is highly desirable
- Knowledge of health information management practices and office management principles.
Job Types: Part-time, Per diem
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 15 per week
