What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive Body Technician position at Marksman Auto Body?

The primary purpose of the Collision Repair Technician is to:

  • Disassemble damaged areas of assigned vehicles and work with the estimator to establish initial supplement
  • Perform repairs following OEM repair procedures

Duties and responsibilities

The primary job duties and responsibilities of a Collision Repair Technician include:

  • Repair our customer’s vehicle according to the work assignment, including any approved supplements, OEM repair procedures, and shop procedures
  • Safely move vehicles around the shop and for test drives as required
  • Self-check all of the work performed and verify the functionality of all devices that were replaced or disconnected

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be detail-oriented and self-motivated. The compensation is ‘Flat Rate’ which provides greater opportunity for income and rewards efficient repair processes. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Must have a good driving record and a valid driver’s license.

Education and/or Experience

Minimum:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Preferred:

  • Certificate from college or technical school; or one to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Continued professional training with recognized programs such as I-CAR and ASE.

Direct reports

This position has no direct reports but may be asked to train other employees from time to time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
