Equipment Operator

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Equipment Operator to join our dynamic recycling team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating excavators to help unload customers and move scrap material to support other equipment. Your expertise will ensure efficient material handling, precise equipment operation, and adherence to safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale scrap services while maintaining a strong focus on safety, maintenance, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment excavators.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on construction machinery to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations.
• Handle materials efficiently.
• Follow all occupational safety regulations and equipment safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and team members.
• Assist with unloading large scrap loads from customers.
• Conduct daily safety checks, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and report any mechanical issues or hazards immediately.

Skills

• Proven experience operating excavators, and other heavy equipment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of hydraulics systems, hand tools, and basic repair techniques for construction machinery.
• Familiarity with occupational safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and construction site safety procedures.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions while maintaining high standards of safety and quality in work execution.
