Duties

• Operate the cash register (POS system) accurately to process retail sales transactions, including cash handling, credit card payments, and mobile payments.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos.
• Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities while maintaining a friendly demeanor.
• Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the sales floor is tidy and well-merchandised to maximize product visibility.
• Conduct product demos when applicable to educate customers about features and benefits of items.
• Handle cash drawer handling responsibilities with precision, balancing registers at shift end and maintaining accurate records.
• Maintain knowledge of store products, including grocery or retail items, to assist customers effectively and provide recommendations.

Skills

• Proven experience with POS systems and cashiering operations in a retail or grocery environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear information and excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers remotely or over the phone.
• Supervising experience is a plus, especially when guiding new team members or managing customer interactions during busy periods.
• Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases effectively.
• Demonstrated ability in retail math for accurate cash handling, sales calculations, and inventory management.
• Knowledge of merchandising techniques and stock replenishment strategies to keep the store inviting and organized.
• Customer service excellence with a friendly attitude, patience, and problem-solving skills to handle various situations professionally.
