Position Overview
The Warehouse Clerk is responsible for supporting daily warehouse, shipping, receiving, and inventory control operations to ensure accurate product movement, inventory accuracy, and timely shipment processing. This role assists with inbound and outbound freight coordination, shipment documentation, inventory transactions, and warehouse administrative activities while supporting overall operational efficiency.
The Warehouse Clerk partners cross-functionally with Warehouse, Logistics, Customer Service, Operations, and Transportation teams to support shipping accuracy, inventory management, and customer service objectives. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Check in inbound and outbound truck drivers and support daily shipping and receiving activities
- Verify accuracy of inbound receipts and outbound shipments including quantities, lot numbers, and shipment documentation
- Prepare shipping paperwork including bills of lading, shipment documentation, and related freight records
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), ERP systems, and inventory management software to support warehouse operations
- Create and process Advance Shipping Notices (ASNs) through ERP and EDI systems
- Maintain accurate inventory records and support inventory transaction processing
- Assist with physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy initiatives
- Coordinate with internal departments regarding freight scheduling, shipment updates, and operational needs
- Support warehouse organization, documentation management, and operational recordkeeping
- Communicate professionally with internal teams, carriers, vendors, and customers via phone and email
- Support shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse operations as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of warehouse, shipping, receiving, inventory, or related operational experience
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic computer proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
Preferred
- Experience within food and beverage manufacturing, warehousing, or distribution environments
- Experience with ERP, TMS, inventory management, or EDI systems
- Experience with shipping documentation and freight coordination
- Forklift experience or warehouse equipment experience
