Automotive Service Advisor

Marks Auto Service of Rockford is a third-generation, family-owned and locally operated independent automotive repair business that has been serving the community since 1949. With four convenient locations, the company offers a high level of expertise in servicing both foreign and domestic cars and trucks. The team focuses on cost-effective repair and maintenance solutions tailored to each customer’s needs. Many technicians are ASE Master Certified and are committed to ongoing education and investment in advanced automotive technology, creating a professional environment focused on quality and continuous improvement.

The Automotive Service Advisor is a full-time, on-site role based conveniently in one of our 4 locations: Belvidere, Loves Park, Rockford, or Roscoe, IL.

What to expect as a Service Advisor with Marks Auto Service:

• We are a busy shop that provides upscale service, a robust warranty program, and maintains a large customer base.
• You are the primary point of contact between customers and the service department!
• Greet customers with a smile, actively listen to their vehicle concerns, and document vehicle issues accurately.
• You will work with Technicians to create estimates, explain./educate customers on recommended services and maintenance, provide timelines, and coordinating with technicians to ensure work is completed efficiently.
• You follow up with customers to review completed work, answer questions, and support warranty or service inquiries, while maintaining high standards for customer satisfaction and service quality.

The role also involves scheduling appointments, managing service records, and contributing to a positive, team-oriented shop environment.

Qualifications

• Strong customer-facing skills, including Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction, with the ability to build trust and maintain long-term relationships.
• Clear, professional Communication skills, both verbal and written, for explaining estimates, documenting concerns, and collaborating with technicians.
• Ability to manage multiple service appointments, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate records in a fast-paced automotive environment.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn our service management software.
• Commitment to safety, integrity, and delivering consistent, high-quality service to every customer.
