Markon is seeking a System Administrator Level 2 to support the Fort Meade Customer. This role will support the Customer by deploying, managing, and scaling containerized applications and supporting infrastructure in a secure, mission-critical environment. This position will play a key role in maintaining Kubernetes-based platforms and ensuring high availability, performance, and operational reliability.
- Administer and maintain RKE2/Kubernetes cluster environments.
- Manage and support containerized applications using Docker.
- Perform system administration tasks within Unix/Linux environments, including troubleshooting and performance tuning.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash.
- Monitor system health, availability, and performance across containerized environments.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and application-level issues across compute, storage, and networking layers.
- Support configuration management, system updates, and security compliance efforts.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support continuous integration and deployment workflows.
- Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and operational support.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline plus 10 years of relevant experience,
OR 15 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. - Hands-on experience with RKE2 and Kubernetes administration.
- Experience with Docker and containerized environments.
- Strong experience administering Unix/Linux systems.
- Proficiency in Bash scripting.
- Experience deploying and managing scalable infrastructure in mission-focused environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
