Markon is seeking a Software Engineer to support the development, integration, and sustainment of mission-critical software systems for the Fort Meade Customer. The Software Engineer will apply strong analytical and programming skills to translate user requirements into reliable, high-performance software solutions using modern development practices.
- Design, develop, and code new software or modify existing software to add or enhance functionality.
- Debug and troubleshoot existing software to identify and correct defects.
- Integrate existing software into new or modified systems and operating environments.
- Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases and data repositories.
- Participate in software testing, integration, and validation activities.
- Provide recommendations to improve software documentation, development processes, and standards.
- Collaborate with systems engineers, administrators, and mission stakeholders throughout the software lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline required.
- Experience developing software in C and Python.
- Experience analyzing requirements and translating them into effective software designs.
- Familiarity with Linux-based development environments.
- Experience supporting software integration and sustainment in mission or production environments.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
