Markon is seeking a Project Manager with an engineering background (Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil) to support ongoing construction and infrastructure projects in Hartford, NC. The ideal candidate is polished, detail-oriented, and experienced in managing multiple projects simultaneously while providing on-site oversight.
- Manage project design and construction efforts, including schedule, funding, and day-to-day oversight.
- Oversee and evaluate construction contractor performance.
- Coordinate and integrate project activities with field personnel and multidisciplinary teams.
- Review, validate, and manage project change requests.
- Prepare and deliver weekly project status reports.
- Develop and distribute project communications to customers, management, and stakeholders.
- Support the client’s Contracting Officer (CO) and Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative (COTR) with acquisition planning, execution, and administration.
- Assist with pre-bid and pre-construction site visits.
- Provide invoice validation and supporting documentation for payment approval.
- Develop and manage project schedules and budgets using MS Project or similar tools.
- Provide technical guidance on construction, contracting, and design-related issues.
- Conduct design reviews and recommend construction documents for approval.
- Ensure proper documentation and data entry within the MAXIMO project management system.
- Coordinate integration of all building systems, including IT, telecommunications, security, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing.
- Maintain project documentation, including logs for scope, schedule, and cost changes.
- Prepare Contractor Performance Reports (CPR) at project closeout.
- Ensure projects are delivered efficiently, meeting cost, schedule, and performance objectives.
- Active TS/SCI FSP required

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field) or a related discipline.
- A high school, vocational, or trade school diploma plus 5 years of relevant experience may be substituted.
- 5 years of project management experience (10–12 years preferred).
- 3 years of experience using MS Project or similar project management tools.
- Experience managing construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, and contractor oversight.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work onsite in Hartford, NC.
Desired:
- Engineering background in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil disciplines.
- Experience supporting government or federal construction projects.
- Experience with MAXIMO or similar project management systems.
- Familiarity with facility systems integration (IT, HVAC, electrical, security).
