Role Description The Principal Systems Architect – Classified Cloud Modernization (SETA) is a full-time, on-site role based in Chantilly, VA. This role focuses on designing and guiding the modernization of classified cloud and hybrid infrastructures, providing expert systems engineering and technical advisory support to government stakeholders. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing architecture roadmaps, defining cloud migration strategies, and ensuring solutions align with mission, security, and compliance requirements. The Principal Systems Architect collaborates with cross-functional teams, leads technical reviews, evaluates emerging technologies, and documents standards and best practices. The role also involves mentoring other technical professionals, supporting program planning and acquisition activities, and presenting complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess advanced systems architecture and engineering skills, including experience with cloud, hybrid, and on-premises infrastructure design for classified or highly regulated environments.
- Candidates should possess strong expertise in cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, or other secure government cloud environments), including modernization, migration, and optimization practices.
- Candidates should possess skills in cybersecurity and zero-trust principles, including secure architecture design, risk assessment, and compliance with applicable federal and DoD security frameworks.
- Candidates should possess capabilities in technical advisory and stakeholder engagement, including requirements analysis, documentation, and the ability to translate mission needs into technical solutions.
