Are you an experienced Linux systems engineer with expertise in NVMe-over-TCP, scripting, and storage performance? CMK Resources is looking for a RedHat NVMe/Linux Administrator to join our Residency team, working hands-on in high-performance storage environments and supporting critical Oracle infrastructure. This role is focused on performance tuning, scripting, automation logic, and deep system-level troubleshooting.
Location: Jersey City, NJ (preferred) — also open to Wilmington, DE; Atlanta, GA; Omaha, NE; Fort Lauderdale, FL
In-office availability: ideally 1–2 days/week in one of the above locations
Responsibilities
- Configure and validate NVMe-over-TCP storage paths and multipath configurations
- Automate discovery, validation, and setup using Bash/Python scripting
- Tune NICs, queues, schedulers, and other kernel parameters for high-speed IO
- Build and maintain Bash and Python utilities for storage operations, tuning, and testing
- Integrate your scripts into Ansible playbooks for broader automation workflows
- Support Oracle-related server builds and pre-deployment logic
- Provide real-time troubleshooting during Dev, QA, and Production rollout windows
- Conduct baseline vs post-migration performance comparisons
- Use tools like fio, perf, sar, and iostat to isolate IO or latency issues
- Support ServiceNow ticketing workflows and participate in root cause analysis
- Work directly inside the end client’s Azure DevOps boards
- Align with their internal storage and automation framework
- Collaborate with SAN and Oracle teams during patching, triage, and rollout events
Must-Have Skills:
NVMe-over-TCP: tuning, path validation, CLI, performance optimization
Linux (RHEL 7/8): filesystem management, sysctl/kernel tuning, systemd, networking
Storage Stack: XFS, ext4, LVM, multipath, udev rules, I/O profiling
Scripting: strong Bash, moderate-to-strong Python and Ansible
Tooling: Azure DevOps, ServiceNow API workflows, Git branching, and PRs
Nice-to-Haves:
- Familiarity with Oracle RAC/ASM and their storage dependencies
- Experience with performance tuning on large-scale storage infrastructure
- Exposure to Pure Storage, though not required
