The Opportunity:

This role supports day-to-day production operations by leading a team on the manufacturing floor, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with production priorities. This role is responsible for executing plans, reinforcing standard work, and supporting team performance in a hands-on capacity.

This position is ideal for an emerging leader who is developing their supervisory skills and looking to grow within a manufacturing environment. The focus will be on team support, training reinforcement, and problem identification, while partnering closely with the Manufacturing Manager and other leaders to maintain production flow and address issues as they arise.

This role reports to the Manager, Manufacturing.

What You’ll Do:

Production Execution & Floor Support

• Lead a team to execute daily production tasks safely and efficiently.

• Drive execution of production schedules and daily priorities.

• Ensure team adherence to standard work, safety protocols, and quality expectations.

• Monitor production performance throughout the shift and adjust resources as needed to meet targets.

• Communicate production updates, issues, and needs to the Manufacturing Manager or salaried supervisor.

• Assist in coordinating with other departments to maintain workflow.

• Work on the line to cover call-ins, vacations, and other labor shortages.

Team Support & Coordination

• Provide day-to-day direction and support to team members on the floor.

• Reinforce expectations for attendance, performance, and behavior.

• Own and manage team timecards, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.

• Assist with reviewing and coordinating employee time-off and vacation requests, escalating as needed.

• Support onboarding and on-the-job training for new employees.

• Reinforce cross-training and skill development within the team.

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement Support

• Identify and communicate production issues, delays, or inefficiencies.

• Assist in resolving minor issues and escalate more complex challenges.

• Support implementation of process improvements and standard work updates.

• Help track and communicate basic performance metrics at the team level.

What You’ll Need:  

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or technical training preferred.

• 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

• Prior experience as a team lead or informal leader preferred.

• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and shop floor operations.

• Strong work ethic and ability to lead by example on the production floor.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to follow direction while taking initiative within assigned responsibilities.

• Willingness to learn and grow into a higher-level leadership role.
