Professional Gardener, Horticulturist, Experience Required
New Dawn Gardens Inc., is a residential landscape design, installation, and maintenance firm established in 1980. We provide professional services to up-scale clients in the metro Washington, DC area.
We are seeking self-driven, qualified gardeners and horticulturists.
Candidates must have an education in horticulture (or a related field) and/or significant field experience. You must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation, be professional, punctual, courteous and be able to follow direction.
Experience is required in plant care and maintenance such as transplanting, watering, organic fertilization, training and tying plants, seasonal clean-up along with monitoring pest and disease problems and knowledge of plant material. The ability to walk into a garden and determine what services are needed both short-term and long-term is required.
Candidates must be able to supervise one or two people as well as being able to work alone, follow directions, and be comfortable as part of a team.
We expect a keen interest in providing the highest quality of service as well as attention to detail. As part of our commitment to the Environment, we adhere to organic practices; compost instead of chemical fertilizers, prevention/monitoring instead of programmed spraying and a focus on proper plant combinations to reduce potential problems.

Compensation based on education and experience. $25.00-$35.00/ per hour Part time positions also available. We also offer excellent health insurance and a generous 401K plan.
