Overview of The Position:A Research Director role at DH is central to building our in-house research capabilities. You’ll serve as a research consultant, strategist and producer, designing and implementing research projects, analyzing findings and transforming insights into actionable recommendations that shape our clients’ work. We are looking for a candidate with expertise in qualitative methods with enough familiarity with quantitative methods to collaborate on mixed methods research projects. In this role, you’ll implement a wide range of market research activities, including facilitating focus groups, conducting insight interviews, moderating online bulletin boards, and other methodologies. An important part of our work is engaging community partnerships and ensuring research participants feel heard, acknowledged and respected. You’ll work closely with team members across DH departments to develop research plans, reports, data visualizations, and presentations that share findings with clients in dynamic and engaging ways.This role will also help grow DH’s research practice with new and existing clients. From managing vendor relationships to coaching DH team members to support research activities, you’ll play a pivotal role supporting DH’s culture of data-driven strategy. Requirements:Master’s degree in communications, sociology, psychology, or a related social science field with a research focus preferred. Minimum seven years of progressive research experience in communications, social science or related fields; agency or consultancy background preferred. Strong facilitation skills with the ability to put research participants at ease and respectfully guide conversations. Advanced knowledge of qualitative principles, methodologies and their application to communications and behavior change projects. Familiarity with quantitative methodologies and mixed methods approaches. Experience with community engagement a plus. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) principles. Multilingual abilities are a plus. Job Duties:Lead in-house qualitative research implementation, including survey development, focus groups, insight interviews, and community forums.Work with account leads to develop research deliverables and work plans to support comprehensive research and evaluation for communications projects.Collaborate with account, creative, digital, and media teams to develop comprehensive research reporting deliverables for clients, including written reports, digital dashboards, and presentations.Supervise research tasks with vendors and freelancers, including leading project kick-offs, budget management, and coordination with account teams and clients.Develop and maintain relationships with research vendors and freelancers to support research implementation, analysis, and reporting needs.Stay engaged and up to date on research implementation trends, including data collection methodologies, analysis tools, and data visualization approaches.Work with multicultural communications strategists to ensure research methodologies are culturally responsive and inclusive of diverse audiences.Support new business development efforts through proposal writing and participation in new business meetings.Support cross-department collaboration to grow data-driven approaches across DH departments and coordinate overlapping efforts.Conduct training sessions and workshops for internal teams, fostering a deeper understanding of research methodologies and best practices.Benefits & Perks:Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental and vision insurance.
