Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role based in Washington, DC, for a Director of Project Management. The Director will oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of multiple projects across various sectors, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The Project Director is responsible for leading multiple projects from initial concept through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and in alignment with the firm’s design standards. They coordinate across teams, manage client relationships, and serve as the central point of accountability for project performance. The Project Director oversees day-to-day project operations, including staffing, scheduling, consultant coordination, and deliverables. They also support business development by contributing to proposals and representing the firm in client and stakeholder meetings. This role is essential for maintaining project continuity, team cohesion, and client satisfaction across the firm’s portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise project execution and adherence to schedules.
- Oversee client communications and deliverables.
- Manage project profitability and support invoicing.
- Facilitate team collaboration and clear task delegation.
- Develop and monitor project work plans and milestone tracking.
- Support staffing plans and workload distribution across teams.
- Lead internal and external coordination meetings.
- Ensure quality control across all deliverables.
- Mentor project team members and support professional development.
- Collaborate with leadership on resourcing and pipeline forecasting.
- Review and approve design presentations and submission packages.
- Track contract scope and manage change orders as needed.
- Align project goals with client expectations and firm standards.
- Contribute to proposal writing and new business pursuits.
- Support ongoing client relationships and post-occupancy follow-up.
Qualifications
- Strong Project Management and Program Management skills
- Experience in Budgeting and financial oversight of complex projects
- Proven ability in Team Leadership and fostering collaboration
- Expertise in Process Improvement to enhance efficiency and outcomes
- Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Relevant experience in the architectural or engineering industry is preferred
- 7 years in Architecture, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
- Professional certification like PMP or equivalent is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $86,551.33 - $104,233.86 per year
