Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller/Coordinator to join our private dermatology practice. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accuracy in coding and billing, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and insurers. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Utilizing the practice management system (EMA) to review medical records and ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement of services rendered.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and manage the medical collection process to ensure timely payments.
- Collaborate with physicians to educate and provide feedback to maintain accurate billing or coding processes.
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations, coding practices, and insurance policies.
- Oversee and help create best practices for Revenue Cycle Management.
- Communicate respectfully and effectively with patients regarding their bills, payment options, and any outstanding balances.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical billing and coding, dermatology experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical records management practices.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
