Picker/Packer

OVERVIEW

**8AM to 4:30PM Shift OR 9AM to 5:30PM Shift**
The Order Fulfillment Picker/Packer is a cross-functional position trained in order fulfillment, including picking orders via a RF device or manual pick sheet, prepping parcels for shipment using the computer system, and order packaging. This role’s primary responsibility will be the safe, secure, and accurate fulfillment of both ecommerce and retail orders.

Schedule and Availability:

• Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30PM OR 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed, including weekends, based on business demands.
• Must have reliable transportation to maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.

Employment Details:

• This position is currently payrolled through a staffing agency but will report directly to Market Speed Logistics.

Duties:

• Efficiently pick customer orders or shipments with a RF handheld device to ensure that the correct number of units, accurate batch, and type of product is picked and prepped appropriately for shipment within a fast-paced pick/pack environment.
• Scan items into the system and print shipping labels and packing slips.
• Package product into bags, boxes, or totes per customer specifications.
• Read information on the product specifications and packaging requirements.
• Quality Control and Inventory Control by verifying proper item is in the original packaging in preparation for scanning including checking batch codes and/or lot codes with no damages.
• Assist in physical inventories and manage the accurate counting of customer unit and case inventory.
• Maintain a clean, neat, orderly, and safe work area at all times.
• Other General Warehouse duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Data entry skills, experience and knowledge of using a computer and experience with RF scanner is required.
• Ability to read and apply written instructions from a manual, memos or short correspondence.
• Ability to learn quickly and a willingness to ask appropriate questions as needed.
• Ability to be cross trained in multiple departments
• Lifting up to 50 pounds frequently is required
• Previous work experience in a 3PL environment preferred
• Strong work ethic and organizational skills with flexibility to work OT as needed
• Ability to maintain an upbeat and positive attitude at all times
• Strong verbal and written communication. Must be able to read/write in English
• The ability to create and maintain positive relationships with both external customers and internal departments

OTHER INFORMATION

This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday during regular business hours. This position may require long hours and some weekend work as necessary to meet the business obligations.

This role also requires the ability to lift items, bend, or stand as necessary. The environmental characteristic for this position is a warehouse/manufacturing setting. Candidates should be able to life and carry up to 50 lbs. and comply with OSHA standards.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.50 - $18.00 per hour
